a poem from Taos: "Pan is the Mountain"
What makes a mountain? Is it trees? Rocks? The dirt, ground stone to hold it together?
We walk mountain paths Take in blue sky Wind Great black ravens guarding the heights Ordering us home to safe walls and warm beds.
But what makes a mountain call us to climb it pinnacle sit and wait at the very top listen for a voice across the snow?
Pan is the mountain.
